Children's Programs

The Nursery

The Nursery provides child care for infants up to age 3 during the 10 a.m. Sunday Eucharist and all other principal feasts and holy day services. We have an infant room and a toddler room, each designed to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our youngest visitors and members. Our goal is to provide a positive introduction to the Saint Andrew’s parish family through story time and play.

Trinity Three (T-3)

Trinity Three (T-3) is designed to help ease the transition of 3-year-olds from the nursery to preschool. Our goal is to introduce the children to God, church holidays, prayer, praise, worship and the parish family of faith and to help them build community while looking forward to moving with confidence through our church school program.

We spend time getting to know God and what we do as a church and we receive visitors, such as clergy and music staff, who have a vital role in our worship tradition and we celebrate the children’s birthdays and baptism anniversaries, remembering these gifts. With guidance from the Episcopal Children’s Curriculum we design class activities that support the lectionary and liturgy.

Young Children in Worship

Young Children in Worship welcomes 4-year-olds and kindergartners to hear biblical stories and experience God’s love. Stories are told using three-dimensional objects that focus the child’s attention on the words they hear. The children enter into sacred stories, parables, silence and liturgy to discover God, ourselves, one another and the world around us. Two trained teachers lead the class each Sunday, sitting in a circle to sing songs, hear stories and wonder about them together. Time is given for activities to interact with the stories through art, crafts and play, and each class ends with a simple feast and a prayer before the children are met by a parent or guardian for Holy Communion.

Sunday Church School

Sunday Church School for children in elementary grades is an enlivening and enriching program during the 10:00 a.m. service. Teachers follow the Episcopal Children’s Curriculum, which includes lessons in the Old and New Testaments, the sacraments and the church. Children join the service to receive communion. Our teachers work in pairs or in groups to nurture our young people to expand their knowledge of Christ and Episcopal tradition.

Vacation Church School

Vacation Church School is great for kids to learn more about their religion in fun and new ways. Held in cooperation with Good Shepherd Catholic Church, VCS also is a great way for kids, parents and volunteers to find a larger community of faith.
